January
Our new year's eve was simply spent going to UCCD church in Jebel Ali. The usual fireworks watching
was not done as Che's not feeling well. Cherrie's new year's solution: STOP softdrinks intake. We'll
see how this goes.
The month was busy with a series of volleyball games at sportzone and DSF organized by Shaikah Shamsa.
This season was the best ever, having won 2nd place after Jumeirah at Sportzone and 3rd place after Al Wasl and Al Shabab
for the DSF tournament by Shaikah Shamsa.
February
Che's brother arrived first week of Feb. He had retired in manila and now trying to relax and enjoy
the fruits of his labor. Our valentines is a three-some dinner at Zync Grill in Ibn Batuta Mall. Most of the weekends
were spent going out and driving around.
March
It's a busy month in terms of work for Olly and Che. Time flew so fast. It's becoming hot in
Dubai, there were a series of sandstorms too. The Emirates inter-departmental volleyball tournament (where Che was a
member of the organizing team) was held last March 16. 15 teams participated - it was a successful event!
April
This is a glorious month. We found out Che is pregnant! Praise God! We have a scheduled vacation
to manila. Olwin's first time, he spent 9 days at his parents-in-law's house in Marikina City. Met almost all friends,
relatives of Che. There was a get together in celebration of dad's 65th birthday. Lots of food, lots of people.
May
First day of the month when we heard our baby's heartbeat for the first
time! Wonderful and amazing... now Cherrie is really convinced she's pregnant. It's still an easy pregnancy for Cherrie, no
hassles with Olly - except for her moodiness. Grrr... This month, we also found out that Cherrie's brother was accepted in
a job in New Zealand! Great news - hopefully another place to visit.
June
A lot to remeber on this month.. First, it's Cherrie's birthday month.
Olly gave her a new toy - portable sewing machine! Absolutely loved it. We also had our 12th week ultrasound - our hearts
leaped with joy seeing how active the baby was inside. We can also see the features and figure of the baby. As Cherrie had
crossed her first trimester - it's time for a treat. We went to Al Hamra Fort in Ras Al Khaimah for a weekend get-away. Also,
one of our major thanksgiving - Olly was promoted and upgraded as a Senior Sales Executive - such a blessing indeed. And finally,
we felt the baby moved for the first time!!!
July
It's Olwin's birthday month. To celebrate, we had lunch at Nando's together
with Olwin's counsins - Cedric and Sarah. Cherrie is still active with volleyball, managing practises and joining the girls
during warm up exercise. We started having a weekly juice regiment. Lemon, Watermelon and Coconut routine. Weather in Dubai
is getting hotter by the day...
August
It Cherrie's last chance to travel and have fun. She went to UK to
meet her bestfriend Linel, spent a few days of lovely weather in central London. At 22 weeks, she, the little one and Linel
had a blast. It would take few years for her to travel once again - probably once the baby can be managed easily...
September - November
These months were the preparation and waiting months. We've brought baby
stuffs - crib, strollers, feeding bottles, nappies, clothes, etc. We also did a major house re-org to make space for all the
new items we've purchased. Visas and tickets for Cherrie's parents were also arranged as they are expected to come by Dec.
We had the usual doctor's visit, and the pregnancy was progressing well. We were both busy at work preparing for the long
"vacation" - Olwin will be on leave for almost the whole of Dec, while Cherrie will start her leave once she gives birth and
plans to be back to work in Mar-2008.
December
What great way to end the year! An addition to Lobo family. On 4th Dec,
at 1015h, Cherrie gave birth to a healthy baby boy, weighing 2.8kgs. New mom was safe and sound after 6 hous of labour and
normal delivery. Thank God for answering all ou prayers! Thank God for His precious gift to us - Caleb Peter S. Lobo.
