Wedding Service --------------- The wedding service was at
4:30 p.m. on November 11th, 2005 at St. Claire Chapel, St. Peter of Assisi Church in Jebel Ali Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The minister for the service was Fr. Cyprian Peter D'Souza. Olwin's Best Man was his brother Melvin while Cherrie's
Maid Of Honor was one of her bestfriends, Cristina Doctor.
Everyone was welcome to witness the couples' wedding. The
wedding service was approximately an hour and a half. Photo session followed right after the ceremony.
Dinner Celebration ------------------
The reception
was at Falcon Ballroom - Le Meridien Hotel located at the Airport Road, Dubai. The ballroom opened to accept invited
family members, relatives and guests at 7:30pm. We prepared a short program celebration that started at 8:30pm. There
was (food) pass around earlier and the buffet dinner opened around 10:30pm.
Dinner reception was limited to family
members, relatives and a number of guests. A formal 'card invitation' was given to those who were invited to join us. In as
much as we wanted to invited everyone, we preferred to keep this a "family affair celebration". Thank you for your understanding.
Maps and Directions
-------------------
From Dubai, take Sheikh Zayed Road towards Abu Dhabi. Drive and once you see Ibn Batuta Mall, take the immdiate bridge
and turn left. Once you pass the bridge, turn right and will take you to a rough road. Go straight and towards the end, take
right - you will see the church.
Le Meridien is close to the airport. Since the reception is at the Falcon Ballroom, we suggest you take the entrance
just beside Al Bustan Rotana Hotel - that will take you directly to the ballroom.
Gift Registry
-------------
Olwin will be moving in with Cherrie at Al Ghusais once we get married. We are blessed to get a 1-bedroom flat last August
2005 and we've almost furnished our home with stuff. Our color schemes are yellow, white and brown shades. However, we are
not very fussy at all!
Since we have both been living on our own for the last 4 to 5 years in Dubai, we already have accumulated a lot of household
items - come to think of it, we will have 2 of many items - microwave, cooking ware, TV, etc. So, if you prefer to give money,
we will put it to good use!
Gifts are not cumpolsory. Those who cannot be with us, your prayers and blessings are important.
